The North Bay Watershed Association

The North Bay Watershed Association (NBWA) was created to help regulated local and regional public agencies work cooperatively on water resources issues that impact areas beyond traditional boundaries in order to promote stewardship of the North Bay watershed. Agencies participate in the NBWA in order to discuss issues of common interest, explore ways to work collaboratively on water resources projects of regional concern, and share information about projects, regulations, and technical issues.

The North Bay Watershed Association is a group of 15 regional and local public agencies located throughout Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties. If you would like more information on NBWA, please contact us.

Attached is a flyer for Proposition 1E funding. This flyer was developed by the Bay Area Flood Protection Agencies Association (BAFPAA) for the Bay Area IRWMP.

The total funding statewide for 1E is $212 million, with a maximum grant of $30 million (50% match required). Grants will be awarded on a statewide competitive basis. Projects must be consistent with an adopted IRWMP and the Bay Area Coordinating Committee has established a process to include projects consistent with the Bay Area IRWMP (this is described in the attachment).

The Bay Area sub-regions have been asked to assist in outreach. NBWA has sent the flyer to County leads in Marin, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano and will also assist with the following efforts:

  • June 4 – NBWA Board Meeting – BAIRWMP Update will include information on 1E funding.
Location: Novato Sanitary District / Time: 9:30-11:30 a.m.
  • June 15 – NBWA has scheduled a Joint Meeting of our Habitat/Floodplain Protection, Water Quality, and Integrated Water Resources Technical Committees to discuss Regulatory Opportunities and Planning. This will include an update on 1E funding.
Location: Novato Sanitary District / Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m.
  • June 22 – NBWA has scheduled a Watershed Council Meeting. The main topics are RWQCB waivers for Vineyards and Grazing. We will include a BAIRWMP update and information on Prop 1E.
Location: Novato Sanitary District / Time: 4:00-6:00 p.m.
  • NBWA will distribute the BAFPAA 1E flyer to our e-mail lists and post on our website.
